With nearly 44 million people living in Uganda and with the median age at just 15-years-old, it’s estimated that there are nearly 2.5 million orphans in the country, most of whom are victims of civil war and deceased parents due to HIV.
This is where Project Orphans comes in. This team of passionate Christ followers is on a mission to bring hope and healing to this young country through orphan care, education, medical assistance, farming education, and their local church. They have successfully built and funded homes for families to care for orphaned children in Brazil, Haiti, Guatemala, and now Uganda.
Here’s what’s exciting ... Brittany Stokes, one of Project Orphans’ co-founders, is a member of our South Campus! In 2012, Brittany and her friend stepped out in faith to transform a nation and out of that dream came Project Orphans.
We believe so strongly in the work that Brittany and Project Orphans are doing that we are going to subsidize their staff payroll and help with their operating costs for 2019. We can’t wait to see how God continues to use Project Orphans to transform the lives of young people in Uganda!
