Justice

We bring support to those affected by incarceration and those reentering society through our weekly worship services in local correctional centers and our partnerships with local mentoring programs and transitional homes.

Oklahoma boasts the highest incarceration rate in the world, with 2/3 of people returning to jail within just three short years. Addiction and substance abuse is a significant contributing factor, and without proper intervention, the cycle of incarceration continues.

Wings of Freedom is a sober-living community doing its part to break the cycle of incarceration by walking alongside people on the path to recovery and reintegration into society. Through Christ-centered community, support group meetings, Celebrate Recovery's 12-Step program, and employment services, residents are taking steps towards lasting sobriety.

Their belief that lasting recovery can only be realized through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ impacts every part of their program. The Executive Director, Pastor Dixie Pebworth, knows this first-hand through his own experience with incarceration. Pastor Dixie's life was changed when he heard the gospel while sitting in a prison cell over thirty years ago. God transformed his life from that of a car thief, burglar, and drug dealer to the the man he is today, Pastor of God's Shining Light Church, Director of Wings of Freedom, and advocate for those who are ready to make real change.

Wings of Freedom is already making a significant impact in our local community, housing over 180+ men, women, and families in their program at any given time. This year, we helped to expand their reach by giving toward construction of their next sober-living apartment complex. As a part of our 2020 Compassion Offering, we will continue to build our partnership through financial support and volunteer opportunities.

Wings of Freedom
God Behind Bars

This amazing organization is what allows us to have churches in two Oklahoma prisons. We’ve partnered with God Behind Bars since 2018 to share the Gospel in Dr. Eddie Warrior Correctional Center (womens) and Dick Conner Correctional Center (mens). God is continuing to work through this partnership and our dedicated God Behind Bars volunteers to bring spiritual freedom to those incarcerated.

His House Ministries

Oklahoma has the highest incarceration rate in the nation, specifically when it comes to women dealing with drug or alcohol addictions. The founder of His House Ministries, Rhonda Bear, knows this first-hand through her own experience with incarceration and addiction. This faith-focused ministry is based in Claremore and has transitional homes across the state that help women regain their lives through community, find their identity in Christ, and learn how to live again.

Stand in the Gap

Stand in the Gap Ministries is a prayer-based, small group movement that fills the gaps in the social service system. They bring hope to orphans, prisoners, and widows through support programs and surround them with trained and committed volunteers, many of which have been through the same challenges and struggles as participants in the program. Simply put, Stand in the Gap is connecting people in need with people who care, and we think that’s awesome!

Prison Entrepreneurship Program

The Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) is breaking the cycle of incarceration through an innovative boot camp and re-entry program that connects top executives and entrepreneurs with convicted felons. The power of education, mentoring, and post-release support is transforming men’s lives, impacting their communities and families for generations. In 2020, we will help this program take a step toward launching in Dick Conner Correctional Center where we host weekly Church on the Move services for inmates!
