CommunityDevelopment

We want to be a church that reaches the whole city! Together, with our local churches and ministry partners, we'll focus on the greatest challenges at hand in our city and around the world: poverty alleviation, job creation, disaster relief, and human trafficking, all while introducing people to the real Jesus.

This year was an incredible year for growing our relationship with city officials. When the Arkansas River flooded and disaster struck so many communities, we reached out to our city leaders to see how we could help. We were devastated by the need, but also ready to bring hope to the hurting people. Through our partnership with the city, we were able to bring relief to desperate lives in Tulsa, Avant, Sand Springs, Claremore, and so many more communities.

And here's what's awesome: Now, our city officials know they can count on Church on the Move to continue bringing hope to our whole city.

In 2020, we are committed to making a difference across community lines to eliminate racial disparity, welcome immigrants, support our first responders, and fight hunger and homelessness throughout Tulsa.

We'll start by bringing support to our city in the area that needs us most right now: Welcoming New Tulsans. Through serving at monthly naturalization workshops, we can come alongside those wanting to become citizens, guide them through the citizenship application, and connect them with attorneys all while fulfilling the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35, "I was a stranger, and you welcomed me."

But we know these workshops are just the beginning of ways we can develop our community. In 2020, through our partnership with our city leaders, we will bring hope, dignity, and restoration to our city like never before!

City Officials in The Greater Tulsa Area
A Church that Reaches the Whole City

In our Vision Series this year, our pastors challenged us to be a church that reaches our whole city. We want to see 5,000 people mobilized on local outreach projects like working in Mohawk Park & Oxley Nature Center until it's fully clean, volunteering with Reading Partners until our local schools have passing reading scores, supporting city initiatives in East Tulsa, and being a part of North Tulsa collaborations. Through the support of our 2020 Compassion Offering, we'll be able to reach our city like never before!

Broken Arrow Church Expansion

We launched Church on the Move Broken Arrow in the heart of the Rose District just a little over a year ago with a dream of reaching the whole city. We’ve had incredible growth in a short amount of time, and now we have a good problem to solve: we’re running out of space for our kids and students! It’s time to put down permanent roots and establish our reach in Broken Arrow. In 2020, we will move toward the goal of finding and purchasing a building for Church on the Move Broken Arrow.

South Church Expansion

We are taking ground in South Tulsa, and we’re ready to throw open our doors to the South Tulsa community in a meaningful, new way. Through the 2020 Compassion Offering, we want to take a step toward finding and purchasing a permanent home for Church on the Move South that will position us for deeper community relationships and give our Small Groups, kids, and students a home to thrive in.

Love Day

One day a year, we ask everybody at all of our churches to jump in and be a part of Love Day. This is a chance for our entire church to come together, roll up our sleeves, and serve our city. We volunteer at different shelters, clean parks and homes, and partner with our schools and nonprofits to make a difference all over our cities!

Tulsa Dream Center

The Tulsa Dream Center has been a beacon of hope in the North Tulsa community since opening its doors in 1999. Whether it’s providing groceries, teaching children to read, or meeting basic medical needs, they are restoring individuals and families and empowering people to know God. We love serving alongside this trusted ministry partner throughout the year to meet people right where they are.

We’ve partnered with BA Neighbors for a little over a year now, and we love the work they’re doing for the people of Broken Arrow.

Reed Foundation

We love Coach Reed and the work he's doing in North Tulsa through The Reed Community Foundation! The foundation provides a healthy boxing environment where children and youth develop life skills, a strong work ethic, self-discipline, an enlarged spiritual life, and respect for others.

Disaster Relief

With your generosity, this past year we were able to bring relief to desperate lives in the midst of disaster in our nation as well as right here in Oklahoma. National disasters demand swift and vigorous help, so as we approach 2020, we want to be ready to engage with our hands, our feet, and our financial resources.

Crossover Community Impact

Crossover Community Impact works alongside our neighbors in North Tulsa to take a comprehensive approach in seeing the Hawthorne Neighborhood develop and flourish. Through a private school for boys, their StreetLeader program, after school programs, sports programs, and economic and housing development programs, their team is making a big difference in North Tulsa.

ARC

ARC (Association of Related Churches) comes alongside church planters and church leaders across the nation to provide support, guidance, and resources to launch and grow life-giving churches. We've partnered with ARC and young pastors across the nation for many years, and in 2020, we will continue partnering with this fantastic church-planting organization.

Hope International

We believe families in poverty have the God-given talents and skills to provide for their families. What they don’t have is a lump sum of money to invest in their potential. Hope international focuses on poverty alleviation through asset-based training, education, and offering microfinance help to those in poverty stricken areas of the world.

New Hope Eurasia | Moldova

New Hope Eurasia has been ministering in Eastern European countries for more than 40 years. Their focus is simple: they want to reach the next generation! Through youth clubs, school programs, orphanages, teen transitional homes, and camps, they are introducing kids and students to the real Jesus. They’re also fighting alongside churches and government agencies to eliminate human trafficking in Moldova. In 2020, a major international outreach for their team is to provide Gospel-centered after school programs and camps for more than 100,000 kids and youth.
